Sethescopes

Use toilet tissue rolls as stethoscopes. Have you and the children listen to each other’s heartbeats. Then have the children run or jump for a minute and then have the children listen to each other’s heartbeats again and notice the difference.

Yellow to White

Materials:

Yellow construction paper
White paint
Scissors
Toothbrush
Corn Syrup

Directions:

Cut out a tooth shape from yellow paper.
Mix white paint with corn syrup.
Give the children toothbrushes to dip into the mixture and brush their tooth with.
The mixture will dry to a glossy finish and resmeble a healthy tooth.

X-ray Pictures

Obtain X-rays and magnifying glasses. Place the x-rays on the windows. Young children will enjoy discovering all the bones they find. You can make the activity more challenging for older children by quizzing them on how well they know their bones.

Bird Feeder

This would be a fun fall time activity!
Materials:

Pine cone
String
Peanut Butter
Tounge depressor for spreading
Bird seed

Directions:

Spread the peanut butter and on the pine cone with the tounge depressor and then roll in bird seeds.
Tie a string around the top of the pine cone, be sure to do this under the ridges so it stays in place. Knot [...]
