I was born in Calgary and then when I was almost 7 my family moved to the lower mainland area in British Columbia, which is where I now consider my home. I am the first born of 5 children, I can’t really say oldest because I have a twin sister. I also have a 21 year old brother, 13 year old sister and 7 year old sister. As you can see my parents wont be empty nesters for a long time!

In January 2004 I went moved to Salt Lake City to attend LDS Business College where I met my husband. We started officially dating the day before my birthday, August 26, 2004, got engaged at the end of October and got married December 21, 2004. This may seem really fast but to mormon college students in Utah and Idaho this is quite normal.

On March 19, 2006 our first daughter, Sariah was born. She is such a wonderful baby and fills our life with so much joy. We are so lucky to have her.

Our second daughter, Rebekah, was born on July 19th, 2007. She looks and acts so different from Sariah and we also feel so blessed to have her. She smiles a lot and usually has her tongue sticking out when she smiles!

We currently live in Idaho where my husband is attending BYU-Idaho. He graduates in December and then he will be off to grad school.

I am currently working on 4 blogs. The first one, Melissa’s Place is sort of random, it is a place where I share what’s going on in my life, my opinions, things that I learn and a lot more.

The second one, is all about Teaching Children. I believe that parents are their children’s greatest teachers whether that causes a positive or negative effect. This website is mostly a compilation of ideas and articles that I put together in a portfolio for my early childhood education classes. I am still gathering ideas!

The third blog is The Online Recipe Box, I love to make up recipes and also find a wide variety of recipes from other sources. I especially love recipes that can help me save money! I will be having contests for recipe submissions often and I hope you will participate!

The 4th blog is an LDS blog where I write about general conference topics, news and other things that relate to Mormonism.
