Missionary Care Kits

Dec-6-2007 By Melissa

Religion: Any religion that engages in missionary service

Have the children put together a “Care Kit” for missionaries serving in either your area or from your area. With items such as pens, lip balm, shaving cream. If they are in an area that you don’t know much about do some research to find out what sort of things they could use specific to that area, such as warm clothing or their favourite candy that can’t be found in that area.

**Make sure you are legally allowed to send these items, for some countries you are only allowed to mail paper documents such as letters**

A Listening Walk

Oct-24-2007 By Melissa

Explain to your children that they are going on a “listening walk” outside. You can either wait until you return home or to the classroom for them to tell you what they hear or you can have them tell you right when they hear it. The latter may be a better option for young children.

You may want to bring a tape recorder with you on the walk and then when you return from the walk you can play the sounds and have the children tell you what the sounds are as you play them.

X-ray Pictures

bones.jpgObtain X-rays and magnifying glasses. Place the x-rays on the windows. Young children will enjoy discovering all the bones they find. You can make the activity more challenging for older children by quizzing them on how well they know their bones.
