Tithing Box

Teach your children the importance of paying one 10th of their allowance or other money they recieve and have your children decorate a small box that they can use to put coins in for their tithing. This box will be special to them because they made it themselves.

*Edit* This is an activity mainly for those who give tithing to their church. If you would like your child to put a certain percentage of their earnings towards a charity or something else that would also be a great thing to make a ‘money box’ for.

Bring an object, such as an empty beverage bottle that can spin like a pointer. Seat the children in a circle on the floor and place the bottle in the middle of the circle. Spin the bottle on the floor. When it points to a child, that child should name something that Heavenly Father and Jesus have given us that shows their love for us. If you are doing thisactivity with very young children help each child think of an answer when it is their turn. After a child responds let them spin the bottle so it points to another child.

Child Of God Toss

Children of many religions find comfort and nobility in knowing that they are children of a God who knows them and loves them. Here is a fun activity you can share with your young child in your home or a church nursery class.

Sing I Am A Child Of God then toss a beanbag or soft object to a child as you say the words “I know a child of God named _________”. Have the child say their own name and give the beanbag back to you.

Missionary Care Kits

Religion: Any religion that engages in missionary service

Have the children put together a “Care Kit” for missionaries serving in either your area or from your area. With items such as pens, lip balm, shaving cream. If they are in an area that you don’t know much about do some research to find out what sort of things they could use specific to that area, such as warm clothing or their favourite candy that can’t be found in that area.

**Make sure you are legally allowed to send these items, for some countries you are only allowed to mail paper documents such as letters**
