For this alphabet activity you will need a chalkboard and a small bowl of water.

Depending on what stage of literacy your child is at this activity can be used to teach letter recognition, sounds of letters and letter formation.

Have your child dip their finger into the bowl of water and help him write a letter together say what the letter is and its sound. If your child is not comfortable with writing yet you can make the letters and he will still have fun learning to recognize letters and its sound and most of all watching the letter disappear before you write the next letter!
