There seems to be more fun travel games for older kids. I guess I'll just have to see what I have planned for my kids works on the way there. I'll look into the DVD players they sound expensive, though!

Melissa, we took a drive to California when Nat was not quite 2 and our DVD player, sadly, was our saving grace. I've no idea how our parents did it in years past when there were no movies to save the day. Good luck though! I wouldn't want to be making the trip you're going to do but sounds like you'll be prepared.

Often we play "The Color Game" and my daughter has to find something a certain color or for higher levels, something that starts with a certain letter. These games last for a long time and don't require you to necessary "stay tuned" the whole time with them, lol.

Good luck!
