Healthy Cereal Mix For Children
Cereal companies often market all the vitamins and minerals that are added to their cereal, however they don’t mention than some of those cereals that have all those healthy vitamins added to them have just as much sugar in them as a donut! When looking for cereals to buy for children check the lables and choose low sugar and high fiber cereals. Many parents wonder how much fiber children should have each day. The American Academy Of Pediatrics recommend that children’s fiber intake equal their age plus 5 so if your child is three years old she should have about 8 grams of fiber each day. Adults should shoot for 35 grams per day.
In addition to choosing low sugar, high fiber cereals for your cereal mixture make it fun by adding naturally colored cereals that can be found at health food stores. Choose about 3-5 different cereals for your mixture and add some dried fruit for more natural sweetness and flavor!
