3 Ways to Enhance Your Sign's Visibility: Tips to Increase Exposure

Blog

As a business owner, you probably want to enhance your sign's visibility and increase exposure.

Here are three tips that will help increase your sign's visibility and ultimately help promote your business.

Use Contrasting Colors That Stand Out Against the Background

If your sign is placed against a busy or dark background, it can be difficult for people to see. The human eye is naturally drawn to contrast. This is why using contrasting colours for your sign can be so effective.

To make your sign more visible, use colours that will contrast with the background and make it pop. For example, if your business is in a dark-coloured building, using a light-coloured sign will help it stand out.

Some great colour combinations that contrast nicely against darker backgrounds include light blue and white, yellow and black, or green and brown. If you're unsure which colours will work best, you can always consult with a signage company. They will be able to advise you on the best colours to use for your sign.

Use Bright, Bold Letters That Are Easy to Read

In addition to using contrasting colours, you also want to use bright and bold letters. This will make it easier for people to read your sign from a distance.

It's also helpful to use letters that are a good size. If your letters are too small, they will be difficult to read. On the other hand, if they're too big, they may look out of place.

The best way to determine the right letter size is to hold up a ruler or tape measure to see how far away people will be when they're looking at your sign. You want the letters to be big enough so that they can easily be read from that distance.

Once you've determined the ideal letter size, you can start thinking about the font. Again, you want to use a font that is easy to read. Some great fonts for signage include Optima, Helvetica, and Myriad. These fonts are all easy to read, even from a distance.

Use Lighting to Make Your Sign Stand Out at Night

If your sign is only visible during the day, you're missing out on a lot of potential exposure. By using lighting, you can make sure that your sign is visible at night as well.

There are a few different ways to light up your sign. You can use spotlights, which will highlight the sign and make it easier to see.

You can also use neon lights, which will make your sign more visible from a distance. Neon lights also add a touch of excitement and can make your sign more eye-catching.

Using Signs to Educate and Inform Children

Hello, my name is Nicole, and I spent the happiest years of my life as a preschool teacher. In that role, I learned how to inspire children, how to present them with consistency and how to catch their attention. In addition to all of the tactile and motor-related activities we did in my preschool, I also used a lot of signs and posters. Though trial, error and extra research, I learned what works when it comes to signs. In this blog, I plan to write about years' worth of firsthand experiences and behind-the-scenes research. My hope is that my experience helps you to design and find signs of your classroom, regardless of the age of children with which you are working. Please explore and enjoy my blog on signs and education!
